notes, "rent always increases, modestly for some households, but substantially for others." (p. 54)
They note that the outmovers are indeed diverse in terms of race, age, family structure, occupation, income, much wider range than inmovers. The first generation of gentrification affect lower class white, but recent gentrification-caused displacement document substantical rancial, class and lifestyle conflicts in gentrifying neighborhoods, indicating an increasing number of other minorities affected by gentrification. They also note increasing violence in gentrifying neighborhoods.
Outmovers tend to cluster close to their prior residences, with almost always experiencing rent increase.
